When the doors of Community Care Fellowship opened for the first day of service in 1984 there was one person on the payroll at the site. Ken Powers was receiving a small salary, Carol his wife, came as a bonus.

 Administrative support was provided by United Methodist Urban Ministries. A major portion of the services were carried out by volunteers.   Not much has changed since then. Volunteers continue to provide a major part of the work of CCF. Of the seven persons on the payroll all but two are less than fulltime.
